Notice and Action

How to report illegal content or policy violations · Effective 15 May 2026

This page tells you how to report illegal content, dangerous listings, or other content on cyprusboatrental.com (the "Platform") that you believe violates the law or our Acceptable Use Policy. It implements Article 16 of the EU Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065).

Who can report

Anyone — Renter, Owner, or third party — can submit a notice. You do not need an account.

What you can report

  • Illegal content: counterfeit listings, IP infringement, defamation, hate speech, fraud, sale of restricted services
  • Safety risks: a Vessel that appears to be unsafe, unlicensed commercial operation, breaches of Cypriot maritime regulations
  • Personal data exposure: someone else's personal data in a listing or review
  • Breaches of our Acceptable Use Policy: off-platform circumvention, harassment, fake reviews
  • Trademark or copyright infringement

How to submit a notice

Email support@cyprusboatrental.com with the subject line "DSA Notice" and include:

  1. Your name and contact email. Notices may be submitted anonymously where appropriate; we will contact you on the email above if more information is needed.
  2. The URL(s) of the content you are reporting.
  3. A clear and precise description of why the content is illegal or violates our policies, including the specific law or term of service where applicable.
  4. Supporting evidence if available (screenshots, links, documents).
  5. A good-faith statement that the information in the notice is accurate and complete.
  6. An electronic signature (typed name is sufficient).

If you are reporting infringement of an intellectual-property right that you own (or are authorised to act for), please also provide proof of your right or authority.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge receipt within two (2) business days.
  • We assess the notice based on the information provided and any information we hold.
  • We make a decision without undue delay — typically within seven (7) business days for clear cases, and within thirty (30) days for complex ones.
  • We may take one or more of the following actions:
    • Remove or disable access to the content
    • Suspend or terminate the account responsible
    • Demote the content in search results
    • Flag the listing as under investigation
    • Reject the notice if the content is lawful and policy-compliant
    • Refer the matter to competent authorities

Statement of reasons

If your notice results in action against an account or piece of content, both the notifier and the affected User receive a statement of reasons in accordance with Article 17 DSA, setting out:

  • The action taken
  • The factual and legal grounds
  • The notice (or own-initiative source) that led to it
  • The User's right to appeal (Article 20 DSA) via our internal complaints process, and to use out-of-court dispute settlement (Article 21 DSA)

Misuse of the notice mechanism

Notices submitted in bad faith — manifestly unfounded, misleading, or used to harass another User — may result in our refusal to handle future notices from the same source (Article 16(6) DSA) and may be reported to authorities.

Trusted flaggers

We give priority to notices received from entities awarded trusted-flagger status by the Cyprus Digital Services Coordinator under Article 22 DSA. Trusted-flagger notices are reviewed before standard notices.

Single Point of Contact

In accordance with Articles 11 and 12 DSA, our single point of contact for both authorities and Users is:
